The Compound of Five Rhombic Dodecahedra

This is the compound of five rhombic dodecahedra, with each component shown in a different color. This is one of the few well-known polyhedral compounds which is actually more attractive with the faces hidden, and that’s what’s shown in the next image.

Polyhedron nut, just noticed using tetra, octo, and cube if you place the polyhedron on each edge 12 cubes on center cube 12 octohedrons on center same with tetra the edges and vertices outline the truncated polyhedron of the original. Though the truncated cube ends up with slightly different edge lengths. Great site .
