The Top of the Infinite Tower of Fibonacci

Image

The Top of the Infinite Tower of Fibonacci

This is a top-down depiction of the first nine terms of the Fibonacci Sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and 34. Since each term is simply the sum of the previous two terms, the next term (and the first one to not be shown here) is 55. The sequence, of course, continues forever . . . but if too much of the sequence is shown in this manner, the top of the tower would become too small to be seen.

Solar Eclipses and Mandalas On a Great Rhombcuboctahedron

Credit where credit is due:

I found the eclipse picture with a Google-search.

The mandalas are the one in the previous post here (“Seventeen Circles”). I made it using Geometer’s Sketchpad and MS-Paint.

I used software called Stella 4d to assemble this onto the chosen polyhedron, and make the animated .gif file you see here. This software is available at http://www.software3d.com/stella.php, with a free trial download available.

732 Interpenetrating Regular Pentagons in Orbit around a Common Axis

732 Interpenetrating Regular Pentagons In Orbit Around a Common Axis

This was created by augmenting a great dodecahedron with more great dodecahedra, and then augmenting the result with even more of them.

The software I used was Stella 4d, which you can find right here.
