Glimpses of the Invisible

Glimpses of the invisible

Created using Stella 4d, available here, by multiple stellations of a black icosidodecahedron, rendered as a rotating figure, against a black background.

32 Octagonal Mandalas, Rotating in the Dark

Icosidodeca

To create the octagonal mandalas, I used Geometer’s Sketchpad and MS-Paint. I then projected them onto the faces of an all-but invisible icosidodecahedron, and created this rotating .gif image of it, using Stella 4d: Polyhedron Navigator, software you can try for free, right here.

5, 10, and 15 (from 2012)

5 10 and 15 from 2012

I recently found a bunch of my “lost” geometrical art which never found its way to this blog before, and here’s the latest piece of it. Created in 2012, it has a central pentadecagon, five orange decagons partially hidden behind other polygons, and many pentagons, all of them regular.

Green Icosidodecahedral Cage

mostly invisible icosidodecahedron

In this icosidodecahedron, the pentagonal faces have been removed, and the triangular faces have been augmented with short pyramids. I used Stella 4d to make it, which you can find here.
